Default rear leaf springs wayyyy to soft

ok so at work to the other day i needed to bring a large quantity of ice out to the gas station which is like half a mile away from the store that i work at for some reason. so i loaded up a about a 1/4 of a pallet of ice which weighs approx 800 lbs and i looked at the rear wheel wells and i was like how the hell are my leaf springs inside out? they went holding any of the weight at all. like the bed was actually resting on the little rubber stoppers underneath. we put and entire pallet (a bit over 2000 lbs) of ice in my friends f150 and it squatted but it didn't bottom out...

so some one tell me what the hell is up with the suspension being soooooo soft. please

You have the equiv of a 1/4 ton truck (mid sized) 800 lb is actualy alot of lb to be back there where our trucks shine is the pulling power (6000 lb) if you think about it 1/4 ton is 500 lb and the newer trucks made past about mid 80's are rated at max so 500 would be about max you shoild put back there. there are helper springs and ect that can help but they so change the ride of the truck
