Hi!
I'm new here, and really glad to find this forum. We have a unique and great truck!
I've had a problem with my driver's seat since I bought my 2009 RMZ Sport 4WD Extra Cab in July 09. The driver's seat back will rock, especially when taking off from a stop. It appears to come from play in the mechanism that adjusts the rake of the seat back...My dealer has replaced the seat, but the new seat does it, too. They now say (and does Suzuki) that it is a routine and acceptable condition of the seat...what BS. I've had lots of cars/trucks, and none have ever done this. It's about to drive me nuts, because I love this truck, but I hate the way the seat rocks! It's become VERY annoying!
If some of you would try this on your truck, I would appreciate some feedback:
You can sit in the seat, lift your weight off the seatback a little, and rock it back and forth. Or, you can stand beside the seat and push on the top of the seat, and rock it that way. I've actually had the seat out, with the plastic side covers off, and noticed the springs used to bring the seatback forward when you pull the adjustment lever are very strong, and I even tried disconnecting those...it helped some, but I didn't like the way the seatback would flop all the way down with no spring pressure.
I know what irritates one person is immaterial to the next, and vice versa, but this thing is spoiling a very good relationship with a fine truck...I would really appreciate any suggestions you fellow Equator owners could offer. Thanks!
