Thanks for the info Ambenisar. Our dealer here in Thunder Bay will throw in a barbeque! That margin does not seem very big, but in this economy I would like to see the DEALER do something for you. I guess that means when the factory to dealer rebates ends you will have to pay full price or would they give you a couple hundred off. I test drove 1 this week and liked how it rode and its features. I would put 75 series tires on though for winter driving, mabey even 85 series. Would be nice to have a compass and temperature gauge. I burned 1/8 of a tank and got 50 km of combined driving, so thats probably around 10 liters!? This truck was brand new with less that 100 km on it. Should get better when broken in. I wonder if they will offer it in blue in Canada next year? Ford has some blue ones and are $11,0000 off, cheaper than the Equator. Back to more researching!

Andy, I think the prices are over inflated. With $5000 off I was still looking at a price tag of $36,000. With a gas rating of 20 and 27 and the new Fords are 18 and 26 the rebate didn't seem like enough of an incentive right now. Ford will be coming out with an eco boost engine soon, so I wondering if it will beat the milage of the Equator and am wondering if Equator/Frontier will be seeing any mileage inprovements in the next year or so? My 01 F150 just got 580 km to the tank so if I downsize it better be worth the mileage. I agree driving a bit of a smaller truck and still having a 6 foot box was nice. I would have to buy a trailer to haul my toys though! Thanks for offering the carcost report. I will be in the market next spring and am going to be doing alot of research untill then. Plus there was $800 in administration costs. That seemed pretty out rageous to me. Talk to you later!

The price here in London was $32K less the $5K rebate plus freight and a/c tax. Yeah I was hoping for the Ford F100 which was supposed to come out this fall and be a mid-sized pick-up, but since they've started pushing the eco-boost engine they shelved the plans for the F100. The reason I chose not to wait for the eco-boost was I was told it was going to boost the truck price significantly and the deals now seemed pretty good.

here's my quote Andy, price:33,795 minus $5000 rebate plus$1945 for frieght and other fees, plus $100 air tax, plus licence fee $65, plus guzzlers tax $80, plus etching $399 equals $31,385 before taxes. I thought the sticker price was the same across the country?! Yea that eco boost will probably boost the price. I'll have to wait and see next year when I'm in the market to buy. There are a few other things I have to research about the Equator still. First is what it would cost for fog lights and can I install 75 or 85 series tires without have to raise anything on the truck. Having these tires on will lower the mileage closer to what I'm getting now so that why I'm researching lots to see if its worthwhile. Thanks for your info!

The only thing I had to buy myself was the brake controller and pigtail. ![]() As for aftermarket stuff, I just look for Frontier parts.. they bolt right on and are easier to find.
